Global Bank

SMBC turned to Banyan Infrastructure to augment its origination workflows and profitably operate in the C&I market. Delays and high overhead costs led SMBC to streamline workflows, increase deal throughput, and move into the C&I market with Banyan Infrastructure.

Global Bank [SMBC], one of the largest renewable energy portfolios in the world, was struggling to process C&I transactions in a timely manner due to efficient workflows and manual processes, resulting in high overhead costs.

These overhead costs outweighed the profits, making these types of transactions not profitable and, therefore, prohibiting them from operating in the C&I space. This especially impacted their business as they were missing out on a large and growing part of the market. In order to grow their business and continue to be a market leader, they needed to figure out a way to accelerate deals and cut admin and overhead costs, making these deals profitable.

By working with Banyan Infrastructure to automate their workflows, they were able to increase deal throughput by 40% and decrease the time and overhead spent on deals, cutting 30 days from NDA to close. This allowed them to prove the viability of the C&I market and continue to be competitive in an ever-evolving market.
