At Banyan Infrastructure (“Banyan”), our mission is to unlock infrastructure liquidity at scale. Through software, advisory, and capital markets services, Banyan helps customers operate more efficiently, structure scalable financial products, and connect across the ecosystem, linking platform owners to counterparties and projects to capital.
Our Q3 software releases focused on two of those outcomes: helping teams operate more efficiently and connect with the partners they report to and share data with. We expanded our portfolio management capabilities, especially for tax equity, and built support for complex, multi-tier compliance use cases like National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF) grant reporting. We also expanded Data Room capabilities and made a range of user experience improvements across the application.
Here's what's new.
Expanded Tax Equity support
Tax equity deals are some of the most complex structures in renewable energy finance. Cash, tax credits, and income are each allocated at different percentages, which can shift over time as they flow across a multi-party ownership hierarchy.
For most tax equity investors, these structures are still modeled through arduous manual reporting processes that introduce opportunities for human error into every report. Most importantly, these slow processes also don't scale well as portfolios grow, hampering teams' ability to close a quarter quickly and expand their footprint.
What we built
Banyan expanded its support for tax equity financings, specifically Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Production Tax Credit (PTC) transfers under IRC §6418.
Banyan brings sponsors, investors, and transferees into a single system of record, so tax equity investors can track and aggregate deal data in one place and finish quarter-end reporting faster, with less manual rework and better auditability.
With this release, tax equity investors can now:
Improve reporting accuracy by tracking tax credit sales and allocating tax-exempt proceeds across hybrid structures, including Class A and Class B members.
Streamline quarterly investor reporting with forecast-to-actual comparisons of cash distributions, income, tax credits, and tax credit transfer proceeds.
Capture a fuller picture of investor benefits with new metrics for capital committed, income and tax credit allocations, transfer proceeds, and more.
More ways to measure portfolio performance

We also added new Portfolio Management metrics to strengthen performance reporting, such as Insolation and Irradiance, alongside existing metrics like Production and Weather-adjusted Performance. We also added more flexibility in how our customers can view and compare data, including the ability to:
Match the scale of your assets with the ability to switch between Wh, kWh, MWh, or GWh for select key views and metrics.
Better measure performance against plan with the addition of a new ‘Baseline’ metric alongside Actual and Forecast for select key graphs and views.
Pinpoint performance shifts and spot production changes with daily production data.
Multi-Tier Collaborative Compliance
Banyan has a long history of helping project finance teams manage complex compliance requirements, including those tied to grant funding. When funding flows through multiple lenders, investors, or intermediaries, compliance obligations often extend to the developers and projects that ultimately receive the funds.
The collaborative compliance solution we released last quarter helps organizations across that funding chain coordinate reporting. Top-level requirements carry through to sub-recipients, while project-level reporting rolls up into a consolidated compliance report.
What we built

Our first multi-tier data collaborative compliance application supports teams receiving funding through the EPA’s National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF). It helps NCIF recipients and sub-recipients collect, validate, and roll up data for upstream funding partners through:
Guided collection that surfaces required data points and leads users through collection.
Validation engine that checks submissions against requirements, so errors surface before submission, not after.
Standardized reports that enable easy aggregation and rollup of data collected across multiple counterparties into a format approved by upstream funding partners.
Expanded Data Room capabilities
The Data Room is where Banyan users store and share project data with lenders, investors, and other stakeholders. This quarter, we released a redesigned Data Room interface with faster load times, expanded storage, and support for more file types.
We also updated our SharePoint integration to support one-way and two-way syncing. For teams that use SharePoint, this means you can collect origination documents directly in Banyan and have them automatically sync to a SharePoint folder.
User experience improvements
Applications for community lenders
Mobile-friendly applications. Applicants can now complete the full application on a phone or tablet. This is especially valuable for residential lending, where many applicants prefer smartphones or may not have a computer at home.
Un-expire and un-withdraw. Admins can now restore expired or withdrawn applications.
Reporting Covenants
More flexible editing of approvers and covenant details.
Bulk assignee management, making it faster to add assignees across covenants.
Email notifications are on by default for new users and their counterparties, so no one misses a deadline or request.
Data Ingestion
Redesigned our Excel import experience so complex, multi-tab sheets now have faster setup and clearer error messages.
What's Next
Every release this quarter shares a common goal: replacing manual, disconnected workflows with a single system of record that scales with your portfolio. Whether you're reporting to downstream tax equity investors, rolling data up to upstream funding partners, or sharing documents with lenders, Banyan helps you spend less time reconciling and more time deploying capital.
